G'day list,
Newbie Dave here. Green as Red Hat is Red.

Problem with FTP.
1/ I specify "FTP fred" with a .netrc file which includes the logon info but the ftp doesn't seem to be finding (or executing) the .netrc file.

fred is a microVAXII (those were the days......) running CMU-Tek V2.9A

I get the message

220  CMU-Tek FTP version V2.9A (04-Dec-1991) ready.
---> AUTH GSSAPI
500 Syntax error, command unrecognized.
---> AUTH KERBEROS_V4
500 Syntax error, command unrecognized.
KERBEROS_V4 rejected as an authentication type
and connect by typing uname/passwd

The problem is this should be happening from the .netrc file

Any suggestions here??

Thanks
Dave
