They're pretty much 6 of one, half dozen the other. 

If you're doing an upgrade, though, RHL9 doesn't have an upgrade option in 
the regular installation process.  You'll have to specify "linux 
upgradeany" at the initial boot prompt from the CD.  That was the gotcha 
for me in going from RHL7.1 to RHL9.

I don't actually recall if that was the case when I upgraded my RHL7.2 box 
to FC1...I think there might have been an "upgrade" option in the 
installer for that.
