you don't have to create linux users when using winbind it's all in the way you configure your accesses for example in /etc/nsswitch.conf : passwd: files winbind ... shadow: files winbind ... group: files winbind ... in /etc/pam.d/samba auth sufficient /lib/security/pam_pwdb.so shadow auth required /lib/security/pam_winbind.so account sufficient /lib/security/pam_pwdb.so account required /lib/security/pam_winbind.so the first will be used to gather users/groups information the second to allow samba access using domain accounts hth A 20:54 05/03/2004 +0200, vous avez écrit : >Hi All, > >I am using winbind for the first time.
