Recently I have been having the problem mentioned a while ago whereby Evolution looses shortcuts. I made provision for restoring them by making a backup of the shortcuts.xml file so I could replace the corrupted file with it (it's a lot easier that remaking all the shortcuts). I added 2 more short cuts the other day an found that they were missing each time I restarted Evolution whether I had logged out or not. To cut to the chase I discovered the group had been changed from my own to root (almost certainly by me changing to root the last time I replaced the file. I must have done it the one time I did not need to) I have changed the group back and so far all is well. In case it is of use to any one, you can also copy the shortcut and Vfolders files to another machine if you are setting up a second evolution for yourself that saves a lot of clicking.
