I am trying to get the samba-ldap PDC going on rh9 I have followed the instructions per - http://www.vcs.u52.k12.me.us/LDAP/The_SAMBA-LDAP_How-to.html And I am using the idealx smbldap tools. I have one problem and I think it is the nss_ldap or pam_ldap. I can create a user in the ldap with the smbldap_tools but I cannot log into the RH box or ssh in to it as this new user. The following message shows up in /var/log/messages Feb 20 17:51:39 localhost gdm(pam_unix)[16883]: check pass; user unknown Feb 20 17:51:39 localhost gdm(pam_unix)[16883]: authentication failure; logname= uid=0 euid=0 tty=:0 ruser= gdm rhost=localhost Feb 20 17:51:39 localhost gdm(pam_unix)[16883]: could not identify user (from getpwnam(testuser2)) Feb 20 17:51:39 localhost gdm-binary[16883]: Couldn't set acct. mgmt for testuser2 Can anyone help me here?
