tell me... the reason i was looking at ldap is to implement a web based "open source" app for allowing people to enter their information, as well as photos. the app would allow people to be able to look through the directory of people or to search through the database of people... can ldap be used to do this. can anybody point me to an ldap implementation on the web that i can kind of play around with to check this out... thanks bruce bedouglas@xxxxxxxxxxxxx (925) 866-2790 ps. can anyone tell me why i haven't been receiving many msgs from this group lately... -----Original Message----- From: redhat-list-admin@xxxxxxxxxx [mailto:redhat-list-admin@xxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Ravi Verma Sent: Friday, February 06, 2004 1:36 PM To: redhat-list@xxxxxxxxxx Subject: RE: ldap... It was unbelievably simple. It took me an hour or so. Most of the effort lies in making all the applications connect to the LDAP server as LDAP client. All the examples from the book worked, which was a pleasant surprise. I did not use the slapd from http://www.openldap.org. I am using the software that came with Red Hat distribution.
