Hi, I've got an old version of samba installed from RedHat 8, I want to know if I can just download and install the new version of samba over the top of it or will I need to uninstall my current version of samba somehow? Thanks
If you download the rpm then you can just upgrade it by doing...
rpm -Uvh samba.XXX.rpm
