acpi: adsp not found

after enabling acpi under redhat 7.3 kernel 2.4.22 with acpi patch from 
acpi.sourceforge.net I get rdsp not found in the dmesg log. Does this mean 
my laptop does not support acpi? I am using a Compaq presario 1080 (very 
old) Thx!
