USB keyboard problem on RH9, kernel 2.6.0

Fellows, I have quite an interesting problem.

I have a sony vaio pcg-grx600 (laptop) running RH9 with kernel 2.6.0.
The system is very stable and everything works like I want it to work.

Today I plugged in a USB keyboard, and the kernel detected it, here's
demesg:

hub 2-0:1.0: new USB device on port 2, assigned address 2
hub 2-2:1.0: USB hub found
hub 2-2:1.0: 3 ports detected
hub 2-2:1.0: new USB device on port 1, assigned address 3
input: USB HID v1.10 Keyboard [Key Tronic Key Tronic USB Hub Keyboard]
on usb-0000:00:1d.1-2.1

However, very interesting thing happens when I type on the keyboard.
When I type really fast some letters get dropped, as in they never make
it to the screen :). This seems like a bug in the kernel, right? My
kernel is preemptible.

Any ideas how I can troubleshoot this problem and how I can verify that
it's a kernel problem and not something else?

I'd be happy to provide more info if anyone is interested.

R!T
