But less fun :)

Agreed from a practical point of view:
>From the grep(1) page:
-R, -r, --recursive
              Read all files under each directory, recursively; this is
equiv-
              alent to the -d recurse option.

If you're going to do that you may also be interested in:
  -a, --text
              Process a binary file as if it were text; this is equivalent
to
              the --binary-files=text option.
