RE: giving users their own http logs

Hmmm that's interesting.

I don't have a ready solution but here is my thinking: the best would be
have your app server do the logging, however, most app servers cannot be
configured to write logs in such a fashion. Therefore, you would need
to write a separate class or any kind of application to handle the
logging within the session.

I do have a question about the idea, though. If you have a large number
of users, how would you arrange and manage the log directories?

Subject: giving users their own http logs

Hello,

I've been googling and experimenting on my own but haven't found a
solution to my problem.

I want to give users on my server their own log directory so that they
can debug their websites and build analytics reports. I tried adding a
CustomLog and ErrorLog entry to the UserDir section in httpd.conf but
that didn't work.

If someone could point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it very
much.

Thanks,
Chris.
