LVM and file permissions

Hi,
On a RedHat 8 server I've created some logical volumes.
LVM is lvm-1.0.3-9
Kernel is 2.4.20-20.8smp

Followed all the instructions and everything worked fine.

Problem is that I need to chown/chmod the LV's to sybase/600.
I can do this on the fly and all works fine.
But after a reboot the perms and ownership are back to root/660.

I could do this in rc.local every reboot but that's mucky.
Is there a better/official solution ?

Thanks.
