RE: broken ssh

The /etc/ld.so.conf file may be broken.

Make sure that has entries in there for the lib directories required.
Update your /etc/ld.so.conf and run "ldconfig".

My ld.so.conf file has the following entries.
/usr/X11R6/lib
/usr/linux-aout/lib
/usr/openwin/lib
/usr/lib
/usr/X11R6/lib
/usr/kerberos/lib
/usr/local/lib
/lib

Also make sure your LD_LIBRARY_PATH is set to the above values.

Subject: broken ssh

I have upgraded Perl and its dependencies; however, now it appears that ssh is broken as it fails to start during the boot process and I receive this following error:

/usr/sbin/sshd: error while loading shared libraries: libkrb5.so.3: cannot open shared object file: no such file or directory

However, the file is present. I also receive this error when attempting to manually start sshd in the inittab.

It also seemed to have broken x11, but I took the steps necessary to not boot up to a graphical interface-so this is not a concern. Before this was modified, I was also receiving these errors upon boot up:

INIT: Id "x" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes

What is the best way to resolve my broken ssh?

Sincerely,

Laura Noe
