I've had similar problems until I realized that it was my memory. It could be that your memory or motherboard BIOS is corrupt. If you have at least two them put in one at a time and test it for about 12 hours to see if that is the case.

Other than that I would look at your hard drive, Linux generally doesn't come with defraging tools because it cleans
the disk on boot up.
