I would use ftp, or scp to copy the same file to verify the speed
of your network between the two.  (You might prefer scp as it tends
to give better throughput than nfs.)
 
I would also check the authentication method (eg. if NIS server is involved and down),
and any special mount option specified.

No, the network seems to be all right.
The problem also exists when I'm copying localy on the FS.
The CPUs are at 96% idle but nothing works !

have you a good interconnect between this two machines?

 

it seems like you lost the network sometimes.

Dear List,

 

We've got 2 machienes on 2.4.9-e.27smp.

Machine B is a NFS Server and a Filesystem is mounted on machine A.

Problem:

A Copyjob on this mount takes very log ... too long, and the Server is very slow.

Even commands on the shell give no response.

Has anyone had this Problem? What is the reason?
