I'm having problems getting vsftpd to authenticate my users. I can connect but I get the basic "530 Login incorrect" message. I've got 1.2.0 installed on a vanilla redhat8 machine. The basic pam file was copied to the appropriate place and is readable. My vsftpd.conf is also pretty basic and is readable. I'm also not trying to log in as root, which I know is forbidden by vsftpd. Thanks for any suggestions, +jeff Here are my files... xinetd vsftpd: service ftp { socket_type = stream wait = no user = root server = /usr/local/sbin/vsftpd # server_args = log_on_success += DURATION USERID log_on_failure += USERID nice = 10 disable = no } ftp pam file: #%PAM-1.0 auth required /lib/security/pam_listfile.so item=user sense=deny file=/etc/ftpusers onerr=succeed auth required /lib/security/pam_pwdb.so shadow nullok auth required /lib/security/pam_shells.so account required /lib/security/pam_pwdb.so session required /lib/security/pam_pwdb.so vsftpd.conf: # Allow anonymous FTP?
