Hi Sam. This is a very easy thing to do. First, look for the file "aliases",
which should either be in /etc or /etc/mail. Look for a line something like
	this:

	# Person who should get root's mail
	root: root

This may vary according to the version of Sendmail, but that's the basic
layout. The second 'root' is the name of the local user who gets the email
(or a list of addresses)... If you wanted to set it up to go to several
remote addresses (say for an IT department), you would simply put their
	addresses in here, such as:

	# Person who should get root's mail
	root: joe@xxxxxxxxxxx,jim@xxxxxxxxxxxx

Once you've added the addresses, simply run 'newaliases' from the command line
(as root of course), and you'll be good to go.

	Hi everyone,

We recent started using Linux (RH 7.3) to handle a couple of server
tasks. One being Squid Cache and the other Hylafax for incoming faxes.

When I check these machines I notice that allot of administration
related email gets created for the root account. Currently they are
simply stored in the 'MBOX' format.

Is it possible to tell Linux to send all 'administrative' emails to an
external email account using SMTP? We run MS Exchange and it would be
far more useful for these emails to arrive in a Public Folder were all
IT people can see them and act accordingly.

I have reviewed the 7.3 install & reference guide and have not be able
to find a single related reference. Can this be done?
