Linksysmon was installed via tarball. It is a basically a perl program. I have
redone a perl Makefile.PL, make, make install, and ./install.sh.

I could fall back to the older version of Net-SNMP 5.0.6; however, the newer
version from RHN was installed due to a security advisory. 

I was hoping a perl expert running the same setup may have had the same
problem and figured a quick fix.

RH 9 with all updates.

The one that came with RH 9 (5.0.6).

Thank you for the response. Unfortunately, I had tried the obvious before
hoping that someone else with more expertise would have had the same problem.
