Have you tried to run the cron logwatch script manually?

# cd /etc/cron.daily
./00-logwatch

At least its configured to process yesterdays logfile entries. Everytime I
run it manually, it sends me an e-mail just like it does at 4:00am. BTW: I
have root aliased to send to my account.

Also, as another poster has pointed out, take a look at pflogsumm in
addition to logwatch. It's a great logwatch type program specifically for
postfix.
