Error loading shared library

I am running RH 7.3 on my PC. Logged in as root I can execute "ls" command to list the contents of the directory. When I login as a non-root user and execute "ls" command then I see the following error:

"ls: error while loading shared libraries: libc.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"

Any pointers to resolve the issue is very much appreciated.
