Report the results of these commands (as root):

# chkconfig --list|grep vsftp <ENTER>

vsftpd: on

# which vsftpd <ENTER>

/usr/sbin/vsftpd

ls -l /usr/sbin/vsftpd

-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 94889 Aug 16 2002 /usr/sbin/vsftpd

This is what I find strange. Why can I log on as an anonymous user but not
as a 'proper' user of the system?

Andy
