Yves, A suggestion and some questions: 1) I know that you don't think it's the web site, but it can't hurt to try running your web pages through http://validator.w3.org/ anyway, just to make sure. 2) Are the english and french machines on the same subnet of the same network? Could it be a network issue? 3) Have you checked to see what your logs say?
