Although it's slightly out of date, Michael Jang's book published by
Osborne is pretty good.  The how-to's on the topics given also helped me
out.

However, the best guide is experience!  I have a "break box" in my
office which I can break over and over again, testing out different ways
to do things and generally creating check lists for upgrades to
production machines.
