Sorry... Forgot to mention that crontab -e shows no listing for root. I tried poking around under crontabs of other users - nothing. Any way to list all crontabs of all users?
Mine is installed (and the instructions say to install it) in /etc/crontab. Edit that file as root, delete the line, and you're done. MRTG is not a service, it is a batch file run every five minutes. Simply not running the batch file will stop it.
