Hi,
I want to extract mail from one of the mail files stored in /home/spool/mail. This is a Cobalt RAQ server. I had problems downloading mail from this account as I was getting this error "change recognition mode or check for corrupted mail drop"
So I just deleted the user but took a backup of his mail and created a new one.
Now I want to extract the old mail file.

That error message "change recognition mode or check for corrupted mail drop" usually indicates a corrupt mailbox file or wrong permissions or simply the first line is empty when it should be a "from" line. Check the permissions first then if they are okay, use vi to edit the file and check to see if the first line is empty. If the first line is empty then remove it.
