RE: Telnet

It it my understanding that by default, the Telnet server is *not* installed
as a part of RH 9.0 -- only a Telnet client.

Did you explicitly install the Telnet server when you installed RH 9.0?
Does netstat show a process listening on TCP 23?

Subject: Telnet

Hi all,

I am having an issue telnetting to my RH 9 server.
It has the right IP, pingable and doing a chkconfig shows the telnet is on.
Running a ntsysv shows me the same.

Doing an rpm -qa shows me one telnet package installed.
Should a telnet server be installed as well?

thanks
