I wonder why eventhough I have up to date my system (blue sign), when I log in as root it appears as if the system needed updates (red sign)? Don't I update the system generally when running up2date?
The other question is a bit off-topic, but anyway I'll let it out: Is it bad for a computer (hardware) to be turned on for long periods of time? i.e. days? I heard linux was specially appropriate for this because it remains stable and rarely needs a reboot.
