As do many of us, I know how to type basic ASCII on a US keyboard layout. But what do I do if I want to occasionally type additional characters from European languages that are based on the Latin alphabet?
xmodmap -e "keysym Menu = Multi_key"
At least, that's how I've got it set up. I couldn't get it to execute right when I put that command in the GNOME session preferences, so instead I put the command in a shell script, and call that script at login.
