7.3 RAID and Failed Device

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

 Hi all,

I have a 7.3 system running software raid 1 (mirroring).

Looking at /proc/mdstat I see:

Personalities : [raid1]
read_ahead 1024 sectors
md2 : active raid1 hda3[0] hdd3[1](F)
      58925056 blocks [2/1] [U_]

md0 : active raid1 hda2[0] hdd2[1]
      1020032 blocks [2/2] [UU]

md1 : active raid1 hda1[0] hdd1[1]
      102208 blocks [2/2] [UU]

unused devices: <none>

This is mounted as / and the whole system lives in this
partition. Yes I know I should break it up into different
partitions. That's being done on the replacement for this
system.

This happened once before and I thought I used:

    raidhotadd /dev/md2 /dev/hdd3

to get the drive to rejoin the set. When I do this I get:

/dev/md2: can not hot-add disk: disk busy!

What am I missing here? What do I need to do to get
the device to join?

Any help appreciated!

Mike
