Hello ,
Thnxs everybody !
Well , I had tried to follow Chris Purcel FAQ (in Tek Tips) , as he advised in his post;
I did start linux rescue from RH CD #1 , I did say "yes" to mount the filesystem, (and
***NOT*** chose the "read only' option).
and erased glibc rpms ; but when
I tried to install the first glibc rpm by
rpm -Uvh /mnt/sources/RedHat/RPMS/glibc-2.3.2-5.i386.rpm --nodeps

I got the follwoing error:
error:
unpacking of archive failed on file /lib/i686: cpio: mkdir failed - read only file system

I really hasn't a clue from where does this "read only file system" error stems.

So Still i cannot boot my RH 9 ;
what shall I do ?

regards,
