nvnet driver trouble after kernel upgrade - Help please

Hi all,

After finally getting my NVIDIA chipset working I upgraded the kernel to
2.4.20-20.9 (just installed all errata on rh9) and can no longer bring
up eth0

I re-patched the new kernel, ran 'make menuconfig' --> the NVIDIA
chipset is indeed there, and enabled. Ran make dep and now when booting
I get: "nvnet device eth0 does not seem to be present"

I even tried deleting it's entry in /usr/sysconfig/hwconf and
re-detecting it to no avail.

Can anyone help? - I seem to have exhausted all the possibilities I can
think of and it seems silly to boot into the old kernel when I want to
use the net....

Many thanks..
