Hi,

First, put your nrpe.cfg. Also, if you use RPM version of nagios/nrpe verify if you have nagios-plugins-nrpe. Because, this rpm have the chek_nrpe script.
See my output

# rpm -ql nagios-plugins-nrpe
/usr/lib64/nagios/plugins/check_nrpe
/usr/share/doc/nagios-plugins-nrpe-2.14
/usr/share/doc/nagios-plugins-nrpe-2.14/Changelog
/usr/share/doc/nagios-plugins-nrpe-2.14/LEGAL
/usr/share/doc/nagios-plugins-nrpe-2.14/README

If you don't use rpm version, verify if you find check_nrpe plugins script files. Normally, this script is located in /<yourpath>/nagios/libexec/check_nrpe in.
