Hi, the stratum is how many hop from internet NTP server to local server . the following information is my ntp server's set. Note: Please run "ps aux |grep ntpd" to confirm whether there exists more than NPTD process. restrict default kod nomodify notrap nopeer noquery restrict -6 default kod nomodify notrap nopeer noquery restrict 127.0.0.1 restrict -6 ::1 restrict 192.168.0.0 mask 255.255.0.0 nomodify notrap restrict 172.16.0.0 mask 255.255.0.0 nomodify notrap server 192.168.0.14 server 210.72.145.44 server 133.100.11.8 fudge 127.127.1.0 stratum 3 #(local ntp server, 192.168.0.14, internet ntpd server.) driftfile /var/lib/ntp/drift keys /etc/ntp/keys logfile /var/log/ntp.log On Thu, 10 Feb 2011 10:15:29 +0000, Cillian Lyons wrote: > Hi, > > I think its the stratum of the ntp server that is the cause. This is also the default stratum for the ntp client, its local clock. the client is looking for a stratum than is lower then itself. As you have said you are on a closed system you need to either attach a local time source to your server ie gps/radio/internet or lower the stratum value for the local clock on the ntp server. > > Regards > > Cillian > > raj sourabh wrote: > > Hi, Thanks for the reply.
