I remember a previous problem someone had like this. Although we never
got to the bottom of "why", something had zapped the partition table,
and as soon as the partitions were recreated, the raid and everything
else just re-appeared.
So provided the disks have been backed up, that sounds like an approach
to try.

Yes, I've been thinking of doing that - I just have to find some spare
storage somewhere to hold the images if I do so, which is problematic
for me at the moment :/
