imsm autodetection, kernel 4.18.5 vs 4.16.3

Hi,

Over in Fedora land, we've run into a bug in Fedora 29 (pre-beta
testing) where the installation environment is not finding imsm RAID,
but the Fedora 28 (final) installer does find it.

We see this in the Fedora 28 (working) case, which is absent in the
Fedora 29 case.

Sep 13 07:33:41 localhost kernel: md126: detected capacity change from
0 to 256066453504

Do imsm arrays depend on kernel autodetection? And is the above
message an indication of autodetection?

Here's the bug with the gory log details if anyone wants to help
troubleshoot or ask for more information. Best guess is there's been
some change in md/mdadm and maybe now it's supposed to depend on
initramfs activation and that's not happening? Maybe the change
expects either initramfs to activate it, or the installer to manually
activate it?

(I don't actually know if this same problem affects mdadm native
arrays, we haven't tested it yet, just got the bug report and it's for
an IMSM/firmware RAID case. I'm gonna test that next.)

Thanks,
