hi, i accidentelly happened to delete one disk with a new ubuntu installation the computer is a 128Gb ssd and 4 2tb drives which were configured as a raid5. The installation took /dev/sda and i thought that would be the ssd. Whats strange that the beginning of the other drives is now identical and looks like this: 00000000 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 |................| * 000001c0 01 00 ee fe ff ff 01 00 00 00 af 88 e0 e8 00 00 |................| 000001d0 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 |................| * 000001f0 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 55 aa |..............U.| 00000200 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 01 00 5c 00 00 00 |............\...| 00000210 74 a6 0f 09 00 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 |t...............| 00000220 af 88 e0 e8 00 00 00 00 22 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 |........".......| 00000230 8e 88 e0 e8 00 00 00 00 c9 8d a3 ef 26 fd 47 4b |............&.GK| 00000240 b6 d5 26 5a c2 ed 80 9b 02 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 |..&Z............| 00000250 80 00 00 00 80 00 00 00 b5 7d fc 92 00 00 00 00 |.........}......| 00000260 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 |................| * 00000400 a2 a0 d0 eb e5 b9 33 44 87 c0 68 b6 b7 26 99 c7 |......3D..h..&..| 00000410 90 7f 81 e2 a1 4d 0a 47 a2 8d 84 c7 be 78 cf 14 |.....M.G.....x..| 00000420 00 08 00 00 00 00 00 00 8e 88 e0 e8 00 00 00 00 |................| 00000430 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 20 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 |........ .......| 00000440 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 |................| * 00001000 fc 4e 2b a9 01 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 |.N+.............| 00001010 35 94 ec 04 f8 eb 58 7d 83 71 09 f9 88 f8 47 41 |5.....X}.q....GA| 00001020 75 62 75 6e 74 75 2d 64 65 73 6b 74 6f 70 3a 30 |ubuntu-desktop:0| 00001030 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 |................| 00001040 9f 35 3c 56 00 00 00 00 05 00 00 00 02 00 00 00 |.5<V............| Would it be possible to restore at least part of the raid after such stupid mistake? thanks, Marek -- To unsubscribe from this list: send the line "unsubscribe linux-raid" in the body of a message to majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx More majordomo info at http://vger.kernel.org/majordomo-info.html
