should I upgrade my raid1?

hi,

I now compile 2.6.4 to build a 2 IDE-80G RAID1 on my redhat 9, it is original 2.4.20, as a daily backup storage;
It works fine for couples of months.

  After downloading 2.6.7 from www.kernel.org and found
  there are some diff in RAID1 like: reshape, resize, unplug_slaves
  and etc.

Can anyone explain me what they do/change? and should I make
the latest kernel for my RAID1? ** my raid1 is formed by /dev/hdc /dev/hdd, build by mkraid
Thanks!

regards,
shwan
