SIIG Ultra ATA/133

I am trying to set up a raid system (mirroring) using the onboard
IDE controller, the SIIG Ultra ATA/133 controller and some Western
Digital WD800 drives.

I am using the 2.4.18 kernel - and I added the updated drivers from
SIIG for the Aec62xx controller.

The system sees the controller and idetifies the disk, but hangs as
soon as it tries to run the partition check on the disk attached
to the SIIG card.

Has anybody run a similar setup? I would really like to add two
cards, for a total of six ide interfaces. Is there a different
adapter I should be using other than the SIIG?

Any help much appreciated.
