What exactly do you mean by "modem in the system"? When I connect my
phone, there is an ofono modem, if I connect only the headset naturally
there
isn't (and ofono does not notice that anything is connected). The
headsets HSP
profile does not work in both cases, or more exactly it is displayed in
pavucontrol
but switching to the profile does not do anything (Off and A2DP Sink are
fine).

The question is: Can I use my phone and my headset with the same version
of pulse?
It does not look like it. Either I have support for the headset via the
native
backend or I have support for my phone via the ofono backend.
So do I need two different versions of pulse, one compiled with the native
backend for my headset and another one compiled with the ofono backend
for the use with my phone?

Regards
              Georg
