[with workaround] Fluttered sound with Firefox or Chome when using PA through the network

Hi guys,

When using the tunneling feature of pulseaudio to use the sound card
of another computer, it works well with VLC, and any app I tested in
general (I'm on the latest Ubuntu). But when using Firefox or Chromium
(did'nt tried any other browser) the sound is fluttered. The only way
to make it working any time is the workaround found in this thread
(you'll also find in the original question a link to a youtube clip
with the record of the sound problem):
http://askubuntu.com/questions/122148/flash-in-browsers-does-not-play-sound-accurately-using-pulse-network-audio

I have to start firefox specifying my remote PA server with an
environment variable:
PULSE_SERVER=192.168.X.X:4713 firefox &

That way firefox speaks directly to the remote PA without being
proxied by the local PA but in that case I don't have any control on
the volume anymore...

Is this problem known upstream? Is it a PA issue or firefox/chromium
related issue?

As you see in the Ubuntu post, I'm not the only one having that problem.

Thank you a lot,
