Hi, We have a bug[1], which inspired this question: who needs module-x11-xsmp? We load it in start-pulseaudio-x11. Its purpose is to prevent PulseAudio from automatically shutting itself down during the X session. That same task is handled also by module-systemd-login and module-console-kit. Is module-x11-xsmp completely redundant, or is it used in environments where systemd-login and ConsoleKit aren't available? Solaris perhaps?
