RFC: Should we disable module-x11-cork-request

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi,

I've disabled this module by default for ages (in start-pulseaudio-x11)
and generally recommend others to do the same when they ask.

It causes more problems than it solves and is an of mentioned problem:
"why did Amarok/[insert music player here] start playing when a Skype
call came in?"

I think there is general consensus that cork handling has to be done at
a higher level (e.g. in audio systems like GST (and perhaps higher like
Phonon) or in MPRIS or similar APIs) rather than via simulated keystrokes.

So what do you think? Disabled it for the next release?
