It might be an idea to apply this patch to your udev packages: http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/hotplug/udev.git;a=patch;h=ed1b2d9fc7d5c5bfe2a67b0b8ff9e5ea8694268e Allows users to plug in two identical USB sound cards that share the same serial numbers.
