Why no 'default device' option?

Well, doesn't that happen for you automagically? Just set A as fallback
when it's available. Then, because B is always available, it will be
used if A is not present, but it will, otherwise.

I suspect this won't work for more than two devices, though. I believe
Colin worked on something that would allow that.
