Hi, I just added a USB microphone to an already working setup (see below for details). The microphone works fine according to the volume meter and playback of any recordings I make. However I cannot monitor what the microphone captures in real time. This is using Pulseaudio 0.9.15-r51 on Gentoo using Gnome 2.26.3. Any help on this would be appreciated as, while the current setup is not impossible to use it is sub-optimal. >>> list-cards 2 card(s) available. index: 0 name: <alsa_card.pci_13f6_111_sound_card_0> driver: <module-alsa-card.c> owner module: 4 properties: alsa.card = "0" alsa.card_name = "C-Media CMI8768" alsa.long_card_name = "C-Media CMI8768 at 0xd000, irq 20" alsa.driver_name = "snd_cmipci" device.bus = "pci" device.vendor.id = "13f6" device.product.id = "0111" device.bus_path = "/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1e.0/0000:06:00.0/sound/card0" hal.udi = "/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/pci_13f6_111_sound_card_0" hal.product = "C-Media CMI8768 Sound Card" hal.card_id = "C-Media CMI8768" device.string = "0" device.description = "C-Media CMI8768" device.icon_name = "audio-card-pci" profiles: output-analog-mono+input-analog-mono: Output Analog Mono + Input Analog Mono (priority 101) output-analog-mono+input-analog-stereo: Output Analog Mono + Input Analog Stereo (priority 30110) output-analog-mono+input-iec958-stereo: Output Analog Mono + Input Digital Stereo (IEC958) (priority 30105) output-analog-mono: Output Analog Mono (priority 100) output-analog-stereo+input-analog-mono: Output Analog Stereo + Input Analog Mono (priority 51001) output-analog-stereo+input-analog-stereo: Output Analog Stereo + Input Analog Stereo (priority 81010) output-analog-stereo+input-iec958-stereo: Output Analog Stereo + Input Digital Stereo (IEC958) (priority 81005) output-analog-stereo: Output Analog Stereo (priority 51000) output-iec958-stereo+input-analog-mono: Output Digital Stereo (IEC958) + Input Analog Mono (priority 50501) output-iec958-stereo+input-analog-stereo: Output Digital Stereo (IEC958) + Input Analog Stereo (priority 80510) output-iec958-stereo+input-iec958-stereo: Output Digital Stereo (IEC958) + Input Digital Stereo (IEC958) (priority 80505) output-iec958-stereo: Output Digital Stereo (IEC958) (priority 50500) output-analog-surround-40: Output Analog Surround 4.0 (priority 700) output-analog-surround-41: Output Analog Surround 4.1 (priority 700) output-analog-surround-50: Output Analog Surround 5.0 (priority 700) output-analog-surround-51: Output Analog Surround 5.1 (priority 800) output-analog-surround-71: Output Analog Surround 7.1 (priority 700) input-analog-mono: Input Analog Mono (priority 1) input-analog-stereo: Input Analog Stereo (priority 30010) input-iec958-stereo: Input Digital Stereo (IEC958) (priority 30005) off: Off (priority 0) active profile: <output-analog-stereo> sinks: alsa_output.pci_13f6_111_sound_card_0/#0: C-Media CMI8768 sources: alsa_output.pci_13f6_111_sound_card_0.monitor/#0: Monitor of C-Media CMI8768 index: 1 name: <alsa_card.usb_device_74d_5_noserial_if0_sound_card_1> driver: <module-alsa-card.c> owner module: 5 properties: alsa.card = "1" alsa.card_name = "Blue Snowball" alsa.long_card_name = "BLUE MICROPHONES Blue Snowball at usb-0000:00:1a.2-1, full speed" alsa.driver_name = "snd_usb_audio" device.bus = "usb" device.vendor.id = "074d" device.vendor.name = "BLUE_MICROPHONES" device.product.id = "0005" device.product.name = "Blue_Snowball" device.serial = "BLUE_MICROPHONES_Blue_Snowball" device.bus_path = "/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1a.2/usb5/5-1/5-1:1.0/sound/card1" hal.udi = "/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/usb_device_74d_5_noserial_if0_sound_card_1" hal.product = "BLUE MICROPHONES Blue Snowball Sound Card" hal.card_id = "BLUE MICROPHONES Blue Snowball" device.string = "1" device.description = "Blue_Snowball" device.icon_name = "audio-card-usb" profiles: input-analog-mono: Input Analog Mono (priority 1) off: Off (priority 0) active profile: <input-analog-mono> sources: alsa_input.usb_device_74d_5_noserial_if0_sound_card_1/#1: Blue_Snowball Joe daLuz -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
