TBH I got annoyed by that too, while I was hacking this up. But hey,
there is no reason to complain: you get that stuff for free. It's Free
Software! You could always have payed someone for fixing things for
you. You didn't. So you got what you got.

If you plug them in 'dmesg' will tell you.
