I've noticed that the startup volume for applications sometimes jumps by itself to 100 % I'm viewing happenings in pavucontrol, the applications tab - I've seen this with sox, mplayer and rhythmbox so far play a stereo file and set the volume low (say 10%) quit the sound player application play the same file again, or another stereo file - the volume is at the level you set it before. now play a mono file with the same application - the volume by itself (no user input) is now 100% set the volume down to 10% quit the sound player application play the mono file again, the volume is still 10%. quit the sound player play a stereo file - the volume by itself is now 100% uname -a Linux sambuntu 2.6.24-19-generic #1 SMP Wed Aug 20 17:53:40 UTC 2008 x86_64 GNU/Linux -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
