I had similar plans but after installing F9 on it, I was a little disappointed for some hours... mainly due to the fact that it did not enable my swap space on install... no idea why but I fixed that manually and the machine was somewhat usable after that! I wanted to use it as a frontend to a media application (MythTV) but I doubt it's anywhere near capable with it's very limited RAM :( I'd happily upgrade the RAM but alas that is not possible. Anyway, pulse didn't run for me either and when I realised the other limitations I didn't look too far into it. Sorry I can't offer more insight, but perhaps someone else can. I suspect the key problem as being: (_snd_pcm_hw_open) Invalid value for card, but I don't really know.
