I checked out svn://0pointer.de/pulseaudio/branches/lennart and did ./bootstrap.sh; it said: (only error messages shown) aclocal:configure.ac:316: warning: macro `AM_ICONV' not found in library configure.ac:34: warning: The macro `AC_FOREACH' is obsolete. configure.ac:34: You should run autoupdate. ../../lib/autoconf/general.m4:198: AC_FOREACH is expanded from... aclocal.m4:7645: _AM_SET_OPTIONS is expanded from... aclocal.m4:7384: AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE is expanded from... configure.ac:34: the top level (and similar warnings about AC_HELP_STRING AC_TRY_LINK etc. configure.ac:151: warning: back quotes and double quotes must not be escaped in: $as_me:$LINENO: error: tag name \"$tagname\" already exists configure.ac:329: error: possibly undefined macro: AM_ICONV At this point it exited and had not created Makefile.in. Plunging blindly onward I did: ./configure --prefix=/usr/local 2>&1 | tee $j/errs2 configure: error: cannot find install-sh or install.sh in "." "./.." "./../.." (which is no lie). I symlinked the one in libltdl; now ./configure says: checking for ${facility}... ${yes|no} configure: creating ./config.status config.status: error: cannot find input file: Makefile.in Everyone else can get SVN content to compile; what did I not do?
