Can RTP rx and RTP tx streams share same media endpoint ?

Can an implementation share media endpoint for RTP rx and tx session ?
I mean will there be any overhead as only single thread is use for
IQueue ? What it the ideal way to create mutually exclusive endpoint
for rx and tx ?
